16TH DECEMBER 2011:CHRISTMAS UPDATE

Hey all!
Currently things are going well though slowly. Eugen is mixing the tracks and I have decided to add 4 tracks to the EP to make the release a full album that everybody is waiting for. Adding 4 tracks is very exciting though it will mean another delay. I would much rather have many delays than a badly made 1st album that is released by Christmas. I apreciate all the fans patience, and I hope you don't give up waiting.
I have recently talked to a friend Malcolm Little who is a very tallented lead guitarist for my church. He has agreed to take some solos on the new material to make things interesting.
I have been working hard, as you may have seen, on a poster for Ecthirion. The poster will soon be availble once I find somebody to print it. The poster can be viewed in the 'Merch' section or on the intro page in large.

The website as you can see has been completely changed as I have spent a lot of time on it. There is a lot of new media including a full download of Immortality & 4 clips, guitar tabs, desktop backgrounds, music scores for Ecthirions new tracks and much more. 22nd July 2011:'THROUGH MY EYES' UPDATE

Hello Ecthirion fans!
thank you for being so patient with Echtirion. You will be pleased to hear things are progressing and the new tracks are sounding much better than the old ones, I have recorded several orchestral instruments to make the orchestra much more realsitic. (find out more info on the 'Discs' page)

I am sorry to say that I will be cutting the 'Through my Eyes' release down to 5 tracks I have been working on for my university degree, This is because I didn't want to spread myself too thin. I hope this is ok, my reasoning for doing this is because I think it is better to have 5 tracks with a big realistic sounding orchestral instruments than 12 with cheesy samples. Ecthirion is now just me so its a lot of work getting everything done myself. I feel this is right also because the fans are waiting patiently and I don't want to spend another year or more getting the other tracks up to a good standard.

Eugen Dodenhoeft willl be mixing all 5 tracks of the CD.

I'm not yet sure about when 'Through my Eyes'could be released by but its completion is getting excitingly close! So please don't forget about the band, and sorry for the lack of updates, if you really would like information about how things are going and I haven't posted on here for a while feel free to get in touch on facebook or myspace and I would be happy to tell you personally.

10TH JANURARY 2011:DRUMS RECORDED

Ecthirion have now recorded the drums to the whole album over a total 6 days in the studios at the university of huddersfield. Drummer spencer Lee has laid down some superd drum tracks which I am very pleased with! one small sample of spencers drumming can be heard on the myspace, though it isn't the tightest track its just the first one I felt like doing a rough mix for. I will post some more samples of the new Ecthirion on the myspace as soon as they are good enough quality. There are a number of pictures of our drum sessions in the photos section (if any body know what I did that was wrong with the code please tell me on myspace as I'm not great at HTML) Be sure to check out the short new studio videos of the drum recording sessions, they are in the media section.

The album as a whole is moving forward slowly but very well. I hope to record guitar soon as I have been expernimenting with mic positions and multiple mic set ups on my amp with good results.

24TH MAY 2010:ALBUM UPDATE

We are currently searching for a clean vocalist similar to the singer of Lost Horizon or Sonata Arctica who would be willing to sing on about 8 tracks on the album. The composition process is very nearly complete, we are just going over arrangements to tighten things up a little. There are 4 short demos of 4 of the tracks from the album up on myspace. Gabriel Has got a new side project which will be releaseing a CD some time this year as well it is called Winter's Solace, some clips can be heard here.

The ideas about playing live fell through beacuse we couldn't find enough musicians to make it worth it, so as far as things go there are only 2 members of the band (Gabriel and Simon) though there will be a number of guest performances on the upcoming album.

25TH NOVEMBER 2009:ALBUM UPDATE

Ecthirion are currently working on the new release titled "Through My Eyes" which will have 11 or 12 tracks as well as and a lot of artwork. The new album is going to be very intense in some places and very open and calm in others. Some of the tracks are moving into some new ground for Ecthirion, for instance, there is a big thrash influence in a few of the tracks. A release date for the CD is not yet decided as not everything has been recorded though it should hopefully be out before the end of 2010; at the moment all the songs are written but need re-working and half the vocals have been recorded. Guitars, bass, drums and clasical vocals are yet to be recorded. This will be taking place over the next few months using the studios at the univestity of huddersfield.

Over the last few weeks I have got together a number of very talented musicians at university who will be helping Ecthirion to perform live. Practices will be starting every week ,then once we have got to a good standard we will hit the local venues and start working our way up. My aim is to try and play one or two small scale festivals per year as well.
